Job summary

WGME is seeking a Director for our Newscast to lead production, graphics creation, and crew training. You will direct and TD newscasts, maintain studio operations, and collaborate across departments to ensure tight, clean local broadcasts.

Proficiency with iNews, Ross Overdrive, and Adobe Creative Suite is required. A college degree is preferred, and lifting up to 40 pounds is expected.

• Full working knowledge of Adobe Creative Suite.

WGME is looking for a Director for our Newscast. The perfect candidate will have experience with iNews and Ross Overdrive. Responsibilities

• Perform any production duties as assigned including:
• Direct and TD any assigned newscasts and productions
• Create graphics daily using Photoshop and Deko
• Train production crew in cameras, audio, graphics, etc.
• Supervise production crew on a daily basis
• Maintain production studio and control room
• Perform other tasks related to the position as assigned, which may include website contribution

Requirements

• Experience Directing and TDing newscasts
• Knowledge of production standards and equipment
• Full working knowledge of Adobe Creative Suite
• Ability to clearly give direction to crew while under pressure
• Typing and good spelling skills necessary
• Ability to read and write, college degree preferred
• Must be able to lift & position 40 pound lighting instruments

The base hourly compensation range for this role is $19.48 to $22.12. Final compensation for this role will be determined by various factors such as a candidate's relevant work experience, skills, certifications, and geographic location. Full time positions are eligible for benefits that include participation in a retirement plan, life and disability insurance, health, dental and vision plans, flexible spending accounts, sick leave, vacation time, personal time, parental leave and employee stock purchase plan.
