Job summary

Sinclair, Inc. in Mishawaka, IN is seeking a Director for our Newscast to lead live production, direct broadcasts, and manage control room operations. You will coordinate with the production team and ensure smooth, high-quality news presentation under deadline pressure.

The role requires hands-on experience with newsroom automation systems, Adobe Creative Suite, and a strong sense of news structure. This is a demanding, high-visibility position within a fast-paced local media environment.

Qualifications

• Must be able to direct.
• Knowledge of Ross Overdrive or equivalent automated systems.
• Working knowledge of NRCS/ENPS, video servers, and graphic playout systems.
• Knowledge of Ross Carbonite, video routers, switchers, robotic cameras, and wireless mics.
• Stage manager experience is a plus.
• Strong organization, ability to handle breaking news under pressure.
• Excellent reading/writing and spelling skills; college degree preferred.
• Must lift and position lighting instruments up to 40 pounds.

Job description

WSBT is looking for a Director for our Newscast.

Responsibilities

• Perform any production duties as assigned including:
• Ross Overdrive Automation System
• Maintain production studio and control room
• Perform other tasks related to the position as assigned, which may include website contribution

Requirements

• Must be able to direct
• Knowledge of Ross Overdrive or equivalent automated systems - helpful
• Possess a working knowledge of NRCS (preferably ENPS) , video servers, graphic playout systems (preferably Ross Carbonite), video routers, switchers, robotic cameras, and wireless lavalier microphones
• Stage manager experience is a plus
• A strong sense of newscast structure, significant hands-on experience operating in a computer assisted environment, the ability to work well under pressure, exceptional organizational skills and the ability to easily adapt to breaking news situations
• Live directing and/or switching experience and knowledge of switcher concepts is helpful
• Knowledge of production standards and equipment
• Full working knowledge of Adobe Creative Suite
• Ability to clearly give direction to crew while under pressure
• Typing and good spelling skills necessary
• Ability to read and write, college degree preferred
• Must be able to lift & position 40 pound lighting instruments
