Job summary

Sinclair, Inc. in Harrisburg, PA seeks a Content Desk Specialist to write and post content for our station website and social channels, and to develop engaging videos for all platforms.

You will listen to scanners, monitor news, build sources, and help keep our Content Center running smoothly while upholding journalistic ethics.

Qualifications

• Minimum of 2 years of assignment desk experience.
• Commitment to journalistic standards of ethics and accuracy.
• Ability to communicate effectively.
• Bachelor’s degree in journalism is preferred.
• Proficiency with Facebook, Twitter and emerging social media platforms.
• Basic computer knowledge/word processing skills.

Responsibilities

• Write and post content to station website and social media sites.
• Compelling and accurate writing.
• Develop and edit creative and engaging videos for all social platforms.
• Listen to scanners and react to breaking news, make beat checks, monitor web sites and social media, react to developing news.
• Develop and maintain contacts and sources to enterprise story ideas.
• Listen for and respond to breaking news.
• Assisting in the efficient operations of our Content Center.

• Bachelor’s degree with a major in journalism is also preferred
