Job Description

FOX 35 seeks a News Photographer & Editor in Orlando, a vibrant local news market. The role involves working nights, overnights, weekends, and holidays, with occasional on-call duties for breaking news, severe weather, and major events like rocket launches, NASCAR races, and theme park festivities. Responsibilities include:

• Capturing and editing images and sounds to convey news stories effectively within broadcast time constraints.
• Driving to news locations and receiving updates via cell phone/scanner.
• Operating Bonded Cellular technology and live streaming equipment.
• Managing ENG vehicle and equipment safely, following all safety and DOT regulations.
• Operating and maintaining all newsgathering and editing equipment.
• Recording and submitting media content across platforms.
• Using lighting, sound, and production techniques to enhance footage quality.
• Maintaining equipment and vehicles, ensuring safety and security.
• Developing community contacts and staying informed on current events.
• Reporting equipment issues and accidents promptly.
• Collaborating with newsroom staff to produce quality content.
• Managing digital files and complying with company policies.
• Staying updated with new technologies and techniques in news gathering.
• Performing other duties as assigned, including working varied hours and during severe weather.

Qualifications & Skills

• Experience with Adobe Premiere and BitCentral is a plus.

• College degree or equivalent experience in broadcast industry.
• Valid driver’s license with a clean record.
