OVERVIEW OF THE COMPANY

Fox TV Stations owns and operates 29 full-power broadcast television stations in the U.S., including stations in 14 of the top 15 largest DMAs, with duopolies in 11 DMAs, including New York, Los Angeles, and Chicago. Eighteen stations are affiliated with the FOX Network, producing approximately 1,200 hours of local news weekly, leveraging viewer, distributor, and advertiser demand for the network’s content.

JOB DESCRIPTION

FOX 35 seeks a News Photographer & Editor in Orlando, a vibrant local news market. The role involves working nights, weekends, holidays, and on-call shifts to cover breaking news, severe weather, and significant events like rocket launches, NASCAR races, and theme park festivities. Key duties include:

• Capturing and editing news stories on digital media to convey clear narratives within broadcast time constraints.
• Driving to news locations and managing ENG equipment, including live streaming capabilities with Bonded Cellular technology like LiveU.
• Operating and maintaining news gathering vehicles and equipment safely and efficiently, understanding electrical, electrical circuitry, and DOT regulations.
• Recording and submitting video and stills, managing digital files, and staying updated with new technology and procedures.
• Collaborating with newsroom staff and maintaining equipment and safety standards.

Organization and Compliance:

• Managing digital files and complying with station policies and security requirements.

Professional Development:

• Staying current with trends and techniques in photography and videography to enhance storytelling.

Additional Duties:

• Performing other duties, maintaining attendance, and working varied hours including during severe weather.

Qualifications and Skills:

• Positive attitude, problem-solving skills, commitment to excellence, initiative, teamwork, integrity, and excellent communication skills.

Physical Requirements:

Ability to lift equipment, navigate terrain, and perform physical tasks related to equipment handling and transportation.

Qualifications: 2 years’ experience as a photographer/editor in TV news, willingness to travel, knowledge of Bonded Cellular tech like LiveU, with experience in LiveU, Adobe Premiere, and BitCentral preferred.

Education: College degree or equivalent experience in broadcast industry.

Other: Valid driver’s license with a clean record.
