OVERVIEW OF THE COMPANY

Fox TV Stations FOX Television Stations owns and operates 29 full-power broadcast television stations across the U.S., including stations in 14 of the top 15 largest designated market areas (DMAs). The stations include duopolies in 11 DMAs, among which are the three largest (New York, Los Angeles, Chicago). Eighteen of these stations are affiliated with the FOX Network. Besides distributing sports, entertainment, and syndicated content, our stations produce approximately 1,200 hours of local news weekly, leveraging demand from viewers, distributors, and advertisers for FOX Network’s content.

JOB DESCRIPTION

FOX 35 seeks a News Photographer & Editor. Orlando's dynamic local news market offers unique opportunities, requiring our field crews to work nights, overnights, weekends, and holidays. Photographers may also be on-call or work extended shifts for breaking news, severe weather, or major events such as rocket launches, NASCAR races, and theme park festivities. Key duties include:

1. Capturing news stories on digital media and editing images into clear, compelling narratives, with or without reporter narration, within broadcast time constraints.
2. Driving to news locations and responding to information via phone or scanner.
3. Operating Bonded Cellular technology like LiveU for live streaming; connecting ENG cameras to backpacks for transmission.
4. Operating and maintaining ENG vehicles and equipment safely, including following all safety policies, understanding DOT regulations, electrical circuitry, and transmission setup.
5. Recording news events on digital media, operating newsgathering and editing equipment, and submitting content across platforms.
6. Affixing wireless microphones, applying basic lighting and sound techniques, and utilizing new technologies for effective news gathering.
7. Collaborating with newsroom staff, maintaining equipment, ensuring safety, and reporting incidents promptly.
8. Managing digital files, complying with company policies, and staying current with industry trends and technologies.
9. Performing additional duties such as attending meetings, completing timesheets, and working varied hours including during severe weather.

Qualifications: Minimum two years’ experience as a photographer/editor in a TV news environment, willingness to travel, knowledge of Bonded Cellular tech (e.g., LiveU), and experience with Adobe Premiere and BitCentral are preferred. A college degree or equivalent broadcast industry experience is required. Valid driver’s license and clean driving record are mandatory.

Physical Requirements: Ability to lift up to 40 pounds, operate equipment, and work in various physical conditions.
