ESSENTIAL RESPONSIBILITIES:

1. Stay informed on daily news stories (local, state, national, and international).
2. Provide live and recorded news coverage in both Spanish and English in a journalistically objective manner.
3. Research, write, edit, and deliver compelling newscasts under tight deadlines.
4. Develop and contribute story ideas relevant to the audience.
5. Work closely with producers and editors to adapt content for both broadcast and digital platforms.
6. Write, edit, and publish news articles for the station’s digital platforms.
7. Engage with listeners/viewers through social media and community events.
8. Collaborate with the Program Director to maintain consistent news delivery.
9. Work as part of an ensemble team for news discussions and talk shows.
10. Develop and maintain sources and contacts for news stories.
11. Other duties as assigned.

KNOWLEDGE/SKILLS/ABILITIES:

1. Bilingual in Spanish is required.
2. Excellent news writing, research, and editorial judgment.
3. Ability to work efficiently under pressure and meet strict deadlines.
4. Knowledge of news production, newsroom operations, and broadcast journalism.
5. Experience with digital content creation, including WordPress and social media platforms.
6. A positive and professional attitude at all times, especially at station events.
7. Strong communication, organization, and time-management skills.
8. Ability to work flexible hours, including evenings and weekends if needed.
9. Submit to a criminal background check.
10. Legal right to work in the United States.

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE

Associates degree in Journalism, Communications, or a related field (preferred). At least 3 years of anchor or newsroom experience (or an equivalent combination of education and experience). Experience working in a bilingual news environment is a plus.
