WXIN/CBS4 in Indianapolis is looking for a dynamic Anchor/Reporter to anchor developing, breaking, franchise, and trending content for morning newscasts. This position is based in the #1 newsroom in one of the most dynamic markets in the country. It also involves filling in on the main anchor desk as needed and producing content for sweeps periods, special projects, and other purposes. This is a unique position with growth opportunities in the 25th ranked market.

Duties & Responsibilities:

1. Presents news stories and other content across all platforms.
2. Ensures all news content meets company standards for journalistic integrity and production quality.
3. Writes and delivers news stories clearly and concisely.
4. Assists in writing, copy editing, researching, and coordinating news programming and content.
5. Conducts interviews with news personnel and external entities.
6. Responds to breaking news and urgent newsroom situations as required.
7. Participates in promotional activities, including public appearances.
8. Performs special projects and other duties as assigned.
9. Creates content for the website and other platforms.
10. Engages with viewers/users on social media platforms.

Requirements & Skills:

1. Bachelor’s degree in Broadcast Journalism or a related field.
2. Minimum of 2 years’ experience in news anchoring.
3. Ability to interact effectively with anchors, reporters, producers, videographers, news managers, etc., demonstrating strong business acumen.
4. Excellent oral and written communication skills, with the ability to ad lib when needed.
5. Superior on-air presence.
6. Strong news judgment with broad knowledge of local and national current events, history, and newsmakers.
7. Ability to meet deadlines, prioritize tasks, and multitask effectively, demonstrating high-level experience.
8. Effective listening skills to understand problems and communicate solutions within a team.
9. Valid driver’s license with a good driving record.
10. Flexibility to work any shift.
