Job summary

The Commonwealth of Pennsylvania seeks a Nursing Services Consultant with the Bureau of Family Health to safeguard newborn health across the state. The role reviews services, provides guidance, and promotes best practices among hospitals and providers.

You will evaluate data, develop training materials, and offer technical guidance to improve screening quality and follow-up. Telework may be available part-time; 37.5 hours weekly.

Qualifications

• Two years of professional nursing experience; or an equivalent combination of experience and training.
• Active authorization to practice as a Registered Nurse in Pennsylvania is required.
• If you possess an active temporary practice permit, you must obtain licensure as a Registered Nurse within one year.

Responsibilities

• Data Evaluation: Review and track submitter data to identify trends, improvements, and successful practices.
• Training Support: Develop training materials and assist providers with educational and technical needs.
• Technical Guidance: Provide assistance through calls, emails, and site visits to ensure compliance with screening laws and regulations.
• Best Practices Sharing: Coordinate and distribute recommended practices to keep providers current on procedures.
• Project Oversight: Manage quality improvement projects, prepare program documents, and monitor grantee performance.
• Program Collaboration: Work with health professionals to evaluate newborn screening activities and promote effective care coordination.
