Job summary

Johns Hopkins All Children’s Hospital in Brandon, FL is seeking a Newborn Hearing Screener for a long-term, per diem role at our Brandon location. The successful candidate will perform newborn hearing screenings across hospital sites and help ensure accurate test results while delivering compassionate patient care.

Requirements include a high school diploma or equivalent, current BLS, and the ability to read, write, speak, and understand English.

Qualifications

• High School diploma, GED, Certificate of Completion, or equivalent achievement.
• Current BLS certification required.
• Ability to read, write, speak, and understand English.
• Entry level is encouraged to apply.

Responsibilities

• Performs hearing screenings in assigned locations, following established protocols.
• Follows test protocols to ensure age, test state, and criteria are met before screening.
• Uses proper electrode placement to ensure accurate results.
• Communicates screening process and results to parents and provides educational materials.
• Submits billing paperwork within the same working day.
• Identifies all new births and enters patient demographics into the screening equipment.
• Maintains hygiene and cleaning protocols to ensure a safe environment.
• Demonstrates service excellence and a safe environment for patient care.
