Job summary

TransChicago Truck Group is seeking a Vehicle Transport Driver to move heavy trucks and chase vehicles between dealerships and customer locations, primarily in the Chicagoland area. You will coordinate with service and sales teams, perform inspections, and ensure safety and compliance.

The role requires a Class B CDL with air brakes and a DOT medical certificate, with Class A favored. A dependable, customer-focused, and physically capable candidate will fit best.

Qualifications

• High school diploma, GED, or equivalent required.
• 2 years of driving experience required.
• Minimum Class B CDL with air brakes endorsement; Class A license preferred.
• Must pass a DOT medical certification evaluation.
• Clean DMV record.
• Ability to read and follow written instructions.
• Ability to work independently, customer service, organizational skills, and a positive attitude.
• Regular, predictable, and full attendance is essential.
• Driver must be physically capable of performing required work.
• Follow safety procedures while driving trucks to destinations.

Responsibilities

• Work with Service and Truck Sales to communicate customer feedback.
• Perform pre-trip and post-trip inspections to ensure vehicles are in proper working condition.
• Check vehicles for mechanical, safety, and emergency equipment; report issues to location manager.
• Report vehicle defects, accidents, traffic violations, or damage to vehicles.
• Other projects and tasks assigned by supervisor.
