West Virginia Department of Education seeks a contractor to support beginning teachers through a formal mentor program at Buffalo Elementary School. This role focuses on classroom observations, follow-up conferences, and helping interns set realistic goals.

You will assist with goal setting, self-evaluation, and sustaining productive relationships with students and staff, while attending monthly support team meetings and providing ongoing guidance to new teachers and their mentors.

Qualifications

• Five (5) years teaching experience.
• Must participate in training program.
• Master's degree and/or advanced training in teacher effectiveness.
• Willingness to assist new teachers and perform assigned responsibilities such as: Regular observations/conferences.
• Attendance at monthly support team meetings.
• Ongoing support and assistance to new employee.
• Same programmatic level as intern and same building location if possible.

Responsabilités

• Participate in a formal beginning teacher assistance program; help resolve problems of beginning teachers through assistance and support; classroom observation and follow-up conferences concerning teaching techniques, classroom management skills, improved relationships with students, etc.; assist with identifying goals and objectives; assist with self-evaluation of intern teacher
