Job Title: Network Automation Engineer

Integration and Automation Specialist – Network Monitoring & AutomationOverview:

We are seeking a highly skilled Integration and Automation Specialist with deep expertise in network monitoring tools—especially New Relic—to support a large-scale assessment and optimization project spanning 750+ branch locations. The ideal candidate will be adept at integrating monitoring workflows with ServiceNow, building automation hooks for operational efficiencies, and assisting in the transition toward a self-healing infrastructure.

Key Responsibilities: Monitoring & Integration:

• Collaborate with the network engineering team to enhance SNMP-based monitoring across routers, switches, APs, and firewalls.
• Integrate alerting and incident workflows with ServiceNow; define routing rules, ticket generation, and auto-closure logic.
• Work with stakeholders to translate operational needs into automation requirements.

Automation Enablement:

• Build scripts to automate common network tasks (e.g., PoE port reset, interface bounce, device reboot).
• Develop and test automation hooks (Python/Ansible/REST APIs) that integrate with New Relic or other platforms.
• Recommend standards for automation readiness across infrastructure (naming conventions, tagging, access policies).

Project Delivery Support:

• Support validation and delivery in week 4 of the assessment phase by providing workflow demos and script libraries.
• Document integrations, APIs used, and reusable components for handover to client teams.
• Contribute to future automation roadmap, including potential Ansible playbooks or other tooling.

Skills & Qualifications: Must-Have:

• 4+ years of hands-on experience with New Relic or similar observability platforms (e.g., SolarWinds, LogicMonitor, Datadog).
• Proven experience in ServiceNow integration, including alert workflows, CMDB usage, and ticketing automations.
• Strong scripting experience in Python, PowerShell, or Shell for automation tasks.
• Solid understanding of SNMP, network performance metrics (TX/RX, jitter, latency, interface errors).
• Experience configuring or automating routers, switches, APs (Cisco, Aruba, Fortinet, etc.).

Nice to Have:

• Exposure to Ansible, REST APIs, or other IT automation frameworks.
• Familiarity with network event correlation and dependency mapping.
• Experience in developing dashboards or reports from observability data.
