Job summary

Schmid Tool & Engineering seeks a Manufacturing Engineering Manager to lead the New Product Launch Engineers, drive new product introductions, process optimization, and continuous improvement across production and quality operations. The role oversees capital projects, develops technical standards, and manages a team to meet customer requirements and profitability goals.

Qualifications

Minimum 10 years of manufacturing engineering experience with supervisory roles.
Strong knowledge of part print specs and manufacturing/finishing processes.
Experience with capital equipment, budgeting, and payback analyses.

Responsibilities

Leads New Project Launch Engineering to meet customer demand and profit targets.
Oversees product launches, specification changes, and process changes.
Defines capital equipment needs and prepares investment budgets.
Prepares implementation plans for new part projects and writes work instructions.
Drives lean manufacturing and continuous improvement initiatives.
Mentors and coaches engineers and technicians for technical skill development.
Collaborates with Engineering and Quality to define quality plans.
Manages vendor specs and participates in RFQ processes.
