Job summary

Hematology Oncology Associates of the Palm Beaches in Lake Worth, FL is seeking a dedicated New Patient Scheduler Coordinator. You will evaluate incoming patient referrals for completeness, communicate with referring and attending physicians, and coordinate with medical records to secure missing documentation based on diagnosis and scheduling requirements.

Responsibilities

• Evaluate incoming patient referral documents for completeness and accuracy.
• Communicate with referring and attending physicians to clarify medical information or obtain additional details.
• Work closely with the Medical Records department to obtain any missing documentation based on the patient’s diagnosis and scheduling requirements.
• Contact patients to schedule new appointments, prioritizing based on medical urgency and clinical guidelines.
• Review and evaluate incoming patient medical records and referral documentation to determine the complexity and urgency of diagnoses.
• Collaborate with physicians and clinical teams to assess the appropriate level of care and identify the best-suited provider and appointment type.
• Schedule new patient appointments with attention to diagnosis severity, physician availability, and continuity of care.
• Communicate appointment details, preparation instructions, and care expectations to patients clearly and compassionately.
• Coordinate with insurance verification and authorization teams to ensure pre-appointment requirements are met.
• Document all patient communications and scheduling activities in the EMR system.
• Triage calls and inquiries related to new patient scheduling, routing complex clinical questions to appropriate staff.
