Position Summary

Provides direct and indirect patient care using the nursing process: assessment, planning, implementation, and evaluation. Addresses physical, psychosocial, religious/cultural needs of patients and families. Communicates effectively with the healthcare team about patient conditions. Requires critical thinking, decisive judgment, and ability to work with minimal supervision.

Qualifications

Minimum Education

Successful completion of an Associate’s Degree in Nursing from an accredited school.

Required Skills

Critical thinking, decisive judgment, ability to work under stress, and appropriate action-taking skills.

Certifications/License

• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification through the American Heart Association (AHA) is required upon hire.
• Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) required within 6 months of employment.
• Current North Carolina or compact state RN license required upon hire.
• Handle with Care training required within 90 days of hire; HWC within 6 months.
