Job summary

College Medical Center Phoenix is launching a New Graduate Nurse Program for LPNs to grow clinical skills with adult and geriatric behavioral health patients. You’ll perform assessments, contribute to care plans, and promote safety while developing confidence in a supportive team.

The program emphasizes didactic plus on-unit training, a cohort approach, and hands‑on practice to reinforce learning in real time. LPN New Graduate welcome; certifications and clearances required.

Qualifications

• New Graduate LPNs are welcome to apply.
• Level One Fingerprint Clearance Card required.
• Current LPN license (as applicable).
• AHA BLS for Healthcare Providers.
• CPI Certification required within 30 days of hire.
• Knowledge of growth and development principles, including the ability to assess, interpret data, determine patient care needs, and provide age-appropriate care.
• Understanding of legal aspects of nursing and the importance of accurate, timely documentation per standards, policies, and procedures.

Responsibilities

• Perform comprehensive nursing assessments and document findings.
• Develop, implement, and evaluate individualized treatment plans with the multidisciplinary team.
• Administer prescribed medications and monitor for adverse reactions.
• Provide crisis intervention, de‑escalation, and behavioral management per facility protocols.
• Educate patients and families on diagnosis, treatment, and continuing care.
• Monitor and document patients’ physical and emotional status; report significant changes promptly.
• Maintain a safe, therapeutic environment.
• Participate in daily shift reports and interdisciplinary team meetings.
• Follow infection control and safety guidelines at all times.

Placement in the pay range is based on multiple factors, including but not limited to relevant years of experience and qualifications. In addition to base pay, there may be additional compensation available for CMC Phoenix roles, including but not limited to shift differential and other special pay practices.
