Job summary

Brivo, Inc. is hiring a Software Engineer- NEW GRAD in Austin to join our Engineering - Video team. You will contribute to a cloud video surveillance platform and access backend services, collaborating in standups and delivering real features from day one.

This entry-level role emphasizes mentorship, hands-on coding, and growth into professional software engineers across AI-powered security solutions, with a supportive onboarding in a fast-paced environment.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or related field.
• Working knowledge of Python, Java, or TypeScript (coursework, internships, or projects count).
• Basic understanding of databases and SQL.
• Comfort using Linux and running shell commands.
• Familiarity with Git or another VCS.
• Strong curiosity, problem-solving skills, and attention to detail.
• Intro-level networking concepts (IP, ports, protocols, APIs).
• Experience with cloud platforms, especially AWS.
• Exposure to Docker or containerized environments.
• Familiarity with REST APIs and HTTP fundamentals.
• Experience writing automated tests (e.g., Playwright).
• Exposure to authentication/authorization concepts (OAuth 2.0, OIDC, Auth0).

Responsibilities

• Build with cutting-edge AI and iteratively prototype security products and APIs.
• Deploy at startup speed by collaborating in small, agile product teams to push code to production weekly or daily.
• Scale impact by leveraging Brivo and Eagle Eye platforms for bespoke client apps and enterprise security suites.
• Bring fresh, AI-native innovation and learn quickly with mentors; no prior industry experience required.
