Job summary

Ascension offers a Nurse Residency Program designed for new graduates and early career nurses. Based in Waco, TX at the Providence facility, this ANCC-accredited program provides hands-on experience, mentorship, and a structured transition to professional practice.

Eligibility includes December 2026 graduates; requirements include BLS within 30 days and RN licensure with Texas Board of Nursing; start dates January 19 or February 15, 2027; residency is full-time nights.

Qualifications

• Diploma from an accredited school/college of nursing or professional licensure at time of hire required.
• BLS Provider obtained within 1 Month (30 days) of hire date or job transfer date required.
• Registered Nurse credentialed from the Texas Board of Nursing obtained prior to hire date or job transfer date required.
• Less than one year of RN experience is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Partner with your RN preceptor to support patient care through observation, documentation and clear communication.
• Assist with physician and nursing care plans to help deliver safe, coordinated care.
• Monitor, communicate and document changes in patient condition.
• Strengthen clinical thinking and judgement through structured transition-to-practice experiences that support safe, competent, person-centered care.
