Job summary

Cleveland Clinic Hillcrest Hospital is seeking a registered nurse for the 3 Seidman Oncology/Palliative Unit to provide direct nursing care to inpatient oncology patients. You will work with dedicated caregivers to deliver high-quality treatment while supporting patients, families and visitors. Applicants should be licensed as an RN, hold BLS, and have or be pursuing a BSN.

New grads are welcome. The role requires night shifts 7:00 p.m. to 7:30 a.m.

Qualifications

Graduate from an accredited School of Professional Nursing.
Current state licensure as a Registered Nurse (RN).
BLS certification through the American Heart Association or American Red Cross.
New grad or less than one year RN work experience or moving from non-inpatient to acute direct care with less than one year current acute RN experience.
ONS Chemo/Bio course completed within 2 years of employment if chemo is administered.

Responsibilities

Provide direct nursing care alongside a success coach.
Establish and/or revise priorities for patient care (acuity of need, patient preference and resource availability).
Respond to data indicating risk to patients’ health and initiate action to correct, reduce or prevent risk.
Seek supervision, consultation and assistance when unable to perform safely and independently.
Document in patients’ medical records.
Participate in residency core curriculum based on individual learning needs.
