Job summary

HCA Florida Gulf Coast Hospital is offering a Nursing Residency Program designed to transition new graduates into professional practice with advanced clinical training and mentoring. The program includes nursing leadership oversight and hands-on simulations within a structured series of learning experiences.

Residents collaborate with physicians and the care team, delivering high-quality, patient-centered care across Med/Surg, Oncology, Orthopedics, and more, with potential ICU/ER exposure.

Qualifications

• BLS certification obtained within 30 days of employment.
• ACLS certification obtained within 1 year of employment.
• RN license or Graduate Nurse in the State.
• Associate or Bachelor’s degree in Nursing from an accredited nursing program.

Responsibilities

• Assess patient condition during admission and during each shift as scheduled.
• Perform procedures, monitoring, or other functions as ordered by the medical provider(s).
• Document the administration of care in the patient medical record in a timely and thorough manner.
• Perform the administration of prescribed medications. Monitor patient for therapeutic response.
• Teach patients, families and caregivers about patient medical condition, treatment plan, medications and follow-up measures.
