UNC Health Rex is offering a twelve-month Nurse Residency program designed to help new graduate nurses transition into professional practice. The program provides wrap-around clinical orientation, structured clinical and professional growth, and education sessions with ongoing mentorship.

Participants complete milestones, engage in an evidence-based practice project, and join regular check-ins with leaders and educators.

Qualifications

• Graduation from a school of professional nursing.
• Licensed to practice as a Registered Nurse in North Carolina.
• Bachelor's in Nursing or higher within seven years of employment (for MSN path).
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required.

Responsibilities

• Participates in the UNC Health Rex Nurse Residency program with structured clinical and professional growth.
• Engages in classroom sessions focused on clinical skills and unit-specific issues.
• Completes a group evidence-based practice project as part of the program.
• Attends regular check-ins with unit leadership and educator during the 12 months.
