Job summary

UNC Health Care in Raleigh offers a twelve-month Nurse Residency program for new graduate nurses to support their transition into practice. The program emphasizes both clinical and professional growth through various structured educational opportunities.

Participants will focus on achieving competence as nurses, promoting evidence-based practices, and developing essential clinical leadership skills. Eligible candidates must graduate from a professional nursing program and be licensed to practice in North Carolina.

Qualifications

• Graduated within 12 months, or RN with less than six months experience.
• Licensed as a Registered Nurse in North Carolina.
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required.

Responsibilities

• Identify and meet learning needs of patients.
• Participate in interdisciplinary discussions for care continuity.
• Demonstrate competence in caring for complex patients.
• Develop personal and unit professional growth goals.
• Coordinate care plans with patients and families.
