Job summary

Las Palmas Medical Center, part of HCA Healthcare, offers a Nursing Residency Program designed to bridge the transition from student nurse to registered nurse with hands-on experience and structured learning.

Residents receive diverse clinical exposure, expert mentorship, and a formalized series of learning experiences including simulations, preceptorship, and evidence-based practice projects, preparing them for independent practice in a fast-paced hospital environment.

Qualifications

• BLS obtained within 30 days of employment.
• ACLS obtained within 1 year of employment.
• Other Certifications may be required during employment.
• Associate or Bachelor's degree in Nursing from an accredited nursing program.
• Registered Nurse License or Graduate Nurse in the State.
• No previous experience needed.
• Some travel may be needed for training.

Responsibilities

• Assess patient condition during admission and during each shift as scheduled, identifying changes in patient status.
• Perform procedures, monitoring, or other functions as ordered by the medical provider(s). Document the administration of care in the patient medical record.
• Administer prescribed medications, monitor therapeutic response, and notify provider if needed.
• Provide exceptional patient-centered care and respond promptly to patient requests.
• Educate patients and families about medical conditions, treatments, and follow-up plans.
