Job summary

Northwestern Medicine is accepting new graduate nurses for Cardiac Telemetry (Day Shift), Inpatient Rehab (Woodstock location), and Medical Surgical Oncology (Night Shift). The Nursing Residency Program provides comprehensive orientation, mentoring, and ongoing education during the first year.

The Staff Nurse Inpatient role emphasizes assessment, planning, coordination of care, and collaboration with the health care team following ANA standards.

Qualifications

• BSN required for the Staff Nurse Inpatient role.
• Current IL RN licensure required.
• AHA BLS certification required.

Responsibilities

• Collects and analyzes data, identifies expected outcomes, and develops a plan for care.
• Directs care and coordinates use of nursing staff and assistants.
• Collaborates with patient, family, physicians and staff to document a plan focused on outcomes.
• Participates in shared governance and unit projects.
• Evaluates patient responses and updates the care plan accordingly.
• Uses best available evidence to guide practice decisions.
