Job summary

Windham Hospital in Connecticut offers a Nurse Residency program to newly licensed nurses, with 12-month immersion across Med/Surg, Telemetry, Emergency, and OR units. Residents work nights, rotate weekends/holidays, and join classroom sessions for added learning and mentorship.

Graduates of nursing programs (or soon-to-be graduates) are encouraged to apply. Upon completion, residents gain autonomy, evidence-based practice skills, and leadership readiness within a supportive team environment.

Qualifications

• Education: Graduate of a school of nursing; soon-to-be graduates welcome to apply.
• Experience: New RN Graduate Nurses or newly licensed RNs.
• License & Certification: Active CT RN license; BLS; ability to obtain dept-specific certifications.

Responsibilities

• Participate in a 12-month Nurse Residency with classroom education and hands-on clinical immersion.
• Begin in a specialty area (Med/Surg/Telemetry, Emergency, OR) with focused clinical education.
