Job summary

UC San Diego Health is seeking a New Grad Registered Nurse for the 2 East IMU/PCU to join the Nurse Residency Program. The unit handles ICU stepdown, cardiac, and medicine areas with 12-hour night shifts and some day shifts for new grad training. The residency program supports transition to practice with enhanced clinical learning.

Qualifications

• Graduate from an accredited school of Nursing.
• California RN license by start date; interim permits may be considered.
• BLS/CPR and ACLS certifications at time of hire with commitment to obtain ART within six months.
• Licensure and certification required by cohort start date March 5, 2027.
• Less than six months of working RN experience.
• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Under general supervision, identify and implement nursing interventions and evaluate results for a wide variety of patient populations.
• Directs and acts as resource to other members of the nursing team as assigned.
