Job summary

UC San Diego Health is seeking a New Grad Registered Nurse for the Thornton IMU/PCU unit (2 East). This 90% appointment supports a 12-hour night shift schedule, with some day shifts for training, in a busy inpatient unit specializing in ICU stepdown and cardiac care.

The Nurse Residency Program offers structured transition-to-practice with hands-on clinical learning, mentorship, and opportunities to develop a broad range of nursing skills in a Magnet-designated health system. New grads welcome.

Qualifications

• Must be a graduate from an accredited school of Nursing.
• California RN license by start date; may consider interim permits.
• BLS/CPR and ACLS certifications at time of hire with commitment to get ART within six months.

Responsibilities

• Under general supervision, the New Grad RN identifies and implements nursing interventions.
• Directs and acts as resource to other members of the nursing team as assigned.
• Promotes compliance and support of policies.
