Carolinas Medical Center is seeking a Registered Nurse for the 14-bed Medical Intensive Care Unit (MICU) providing high-acuity adult patient care, including sepsis, respiratory failure, ARDS, post-cardiac arrest, and complex post-surgical cases. The unit operates 36 hours per week with 3 x 12-hour night shifts from 7pm to 7am.

Qualifications

• Graduation from a Board of Nursing approved nursing education program.

Responsabilités

• Engage in unit councils, professional governance, and quality initiatives to improve care processes and apply evidence-based practices.
• Use the nursing process to assess, plan, diagnose, implement, and evaluate nursing care, engaging patients and families through the continuum of care.
• Monitor patient conditions, adjust care plans, mobilize resources, and collaborate with the care team to influence care outcomes.
• Uphold and promote a culture of safety.
• Continuously evaluate patient, team, and unit outcomes, taking action as needed.
• May administer medications, treatments, and therapies safely and according to clinical protocols and procedures.
• Demonstrate effective communication, feedback, and conflict resolution, fostering team collaboration and appropriate delegation.
• Pursue professional development, complete required education, and maintain certifications.
• Adhere to the ANA Code of Ethics and ethical decision-making; respect interdisciplinary roles and provide integrated, unbiased patient care.
• Appropriate delegation to RNs, LPNs, and unlicensed assistive personnel.
• Maintain accurate, timely EHR documentation.
• May be required to float to other units within the service area to meet needs.
• Demonstrate age-appropriate knowledge for patient care and growth and development across the life span.
