Qualifications

• Graduate of a Board of Nursing approved nursing education program.
• Active, unrestricted RN license with privileges to practice where providing care.
• BLS certification required; other certifications may be required by specialty.
• Strong clinical judgment and critical thinking.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to work in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.
• Proficiency with electronic health records and clinical software.

Responsibilities

• Engages in unit councils, governance, and quality initiatives to improve care and apply evidence-based practices.
• Uses nursing process to assess, plan, diagnose, implement and evaluate care; engages patients and families.
• Monitors patient conditions, adjusts care plans, mobilizes resources, and collaborates with the care team.
• Upholds and promotes a culture of safety.
• Continuously evaluates patient, team, and unit outcomes and takes action as needed.
• May administer medications, treatments, and therapies per protocols.
• Fosters effective communication, feedback, and delegation within the team.
• Pursues professional development and maintains required certifications.
• Adheres to ethics and interdisciplinary collaboration to ensure unbiased patient care.
• Appropriate delegation to RNs, LPNs and assistive personnel and accurate EHR documentation.
