Mercy Hospital St. Louis is hiring a Critical Care Stepdown Registered Nurse (RN) for a full‑time night shift.

Responsibilities include providing high‑quality care for intermediate‑acuity patients, planning and evaluating nursing care, accurate handoffs, and collaboration with physicians and staff to optimize outcomes.

Qualifications

• Graduate of an accredited nursing program (ADN, Diploma, or BSN).
• Current Missouri RN license or compact license.
• BLS certification required; ACLS/NIHSS/PCCN preferred.

Responsibilities

• Provide high‑quality care for intermediate‑acuity patients transitioning from critical care to Med/Surg.
• Assess, plan, implement, and evaluate individualized nursing care using evidence‑based practices.
• Perform accurate hand‑offs and bedside shift reporting to maintain patient safety.
• Collaborate with physicians, APs, and multidisciplinary partners to optimize patient outcomes.
• Administer medications and monitor complex conditions (cardiac, respiratory, post‑ICU).
• Participate in huddles, shared governance, and unit‑based quality improvements.
