Mercy Hospital St. Louis is seeking a Registered Nurse for an intermediate‑acuity Stepdown role, joining the ICU Stepdown team to transition patients from critical care to Med/Surg.

You will provide high‑quality, evidence‑based nursing care, collaborate with a multidisciplinary team, and participate in quality initiatives in a night shift, full‑time capacity. Qualifications

• Graduate of an accredited school of nursing (ADN, Diploma, or BSN).
• Current Missouri RN license or compact license.
• BLS certification required; ACLS, NIHSS, PCCN or other Stepdown‑related certifications preferred.

Responsibilities

• Provide high‑quality care for intermediate‑acuity patients transitioning from critical care to Med/Surg level.
• Assess, plan, implement, and evaluate individualized nursing care using evidence‑based practices.
• Perform accurate hand‑offs and bedside shift reporting to maintain patient safety.
• Collaborate with physicians, advanced practitioners, and multidisciplinary partners to optimize patient outcomes.
• Administer medications, monitor complex conditions (cardiac, respiratory, post‑ICU), and support recovery.
• Participate in huddles, shared governance activities, and unit‑based quality improvement initiatives.
