Mercy is seeking a Critical Care Stepdown Registered Nurse (RN) for the Night Shift at Mercy Hospital St. Louis.

You will provide high‑quality intermediate‑acuity care as patients transition from critical care to Med/Surg, with collaborative teamwork and use of advanced technology. Responsibilities include evidence‑based care planning, accurate hand-offs, and active participation in unit‑based quality improvement initiatives, with growth opportunities across ICU and related specialties.

Qualifications

• Graduate of an accredited nursing program (ADN, Diploma, or BSN).
• Active Missouri RN license or compact license.
• BLS certification required; ACLS/NIHSS/PCCN preferred.

Responsibilities

• Provide high-quality care for intermediate-acuity patients transitioning from critical care to Med/Surg level.
• Assess, plan, implement, and evaluate individualized nursing care using evidence-based practices.
• Perform accurate hand-offs and bedside shift reporting to maintain patient safety.
• Collaborate with physicians, advanced practitioners, and multidisciplinary partners to optimize patient outcomes.
• Administer medications, monitor complex conditions (cardiac, respiratory, post-ICU), and support recovery.
• Participate in huddles, shared governance activities, and unit-based quality improvement initiatives.
