Job summary

Johns Hopkins Medicine in Baltimore is seeking an RN to join The Comprehensive Transplant Unit, a 32-bed adolescent/adult surgical service. The role supports post-operative care for kidney, liver, and pancreas transplants and includes orientation for new graduates.

New grads are enrolled in a Nurse Residency Program; a Maryland or Compact RN license and BLS CPR are required. Training will be provided, with competitive pay and a robust benefits package.

Qualifications

• Active Maryland or Compact RN license is required.
• BLS CPR certification required.
• No RN work experience required; Training will be provided - All New Grad RNs are automatically enrolled in our Nurse Residency Program ranked #3 in the nation!

Responsibilities

• Provide nursing care for adolescent/adult transplant patients on the Comprehensive Transplant Unit (32 beds) including post-operative care for kidney, liver and pancreas transplants.
• Coordinate postoperative care and management of transplant-related complications.
• Support new graduates through Nurse Residency Program and orientation.

Job Details:

The Comprehensive TransplantUnitis a 32 bed adolescent/adult surgical unit. The unit offers 3 levels of care: floor,telemetry, and intermediate levels of care. Care and services provided: post-operative abdominal organ (kidney, liver, and pancreas) transplant recipients; as well as medical management of complications secondary to transplantation. This unit is the designated step down for theComposite Tissue Allotransplantation(hand & face) recipients. New graduate nurses will have a 10 week orientation to general/tele and then an additional 6 weeks to IMC level.

Qualifications:

• Associate degree in Nursing required
• Applicants with an Associate’s degree in nursing from an accredited nursing program may be considered, provided they are enrolled in an accredited BSN/MSN program within 1 year of hire and complete the degree within 4 years of hire
• Active Maryland or Compact RN license is required
• BLS CPR certification required

Salary Range: Minimum $36.07/hour - Maximum $54.28/hour. Compensation will be commensurate with equity and experience for roles of similar scope and responsibility. In cases where the range is displayed as a $0 amount, salary discussions will occur during candidate screening calls, before any subsequent compensation discussion is held between the candidate and any hiring authority.
