Job summary

UNC Health is seeking a new graduate RN for the Bone Marrow Transplant Unit at UNC Medical Center in Chapel Hill. This 36-hour weekly role offers rotating day/night shifts with weekends and self-scheduling to balance unit needs.

Eligibility includes NC RN licensure before start and completion of a board-approved nursing program. The yearlong residency features structured orientation, mentorship, and opportunities for professional growth within a supportive team.

Qualifications

• Must be eligible for RN licensure in North Carolina prior to start.
• Graduate of a Board of Nursing approved nursing education program.
• No prior RN experience required.

Responsibilities

• Education - Identify and meet learning needs of self; attend education programs.
• Evaluation of Care - Assess outcomes and participate in care evaluation.
• Implementation - Provide competent care for patients with complex problems.
• Leadership - Support unit goals and promote collaboration.
• Patient Assessment - Gather data to determine care priorities.
• Planning - Update plan of care with multidisciplinary resources.
• Research - Engage with journals and ideas for practice improvement.
