Qualifications

• Graduate of a CoARC-accredited Respiratory Therapy program.
• Eligible to sit for NBRC credentialing exams.
• Holds a Temporary Respiratory Therapist License from the Maine Board of Respiratory Care Practitioners.
• BLS certified from the AHA or ARC upon hire and maintained.
• ACLS certification to be obtained within three months of hire.
• PALS certification preferred.
• Neonatal Resuscitation Program certificate preferred.
• Associate degree required.
• CRT or RRT credential through NBRC within three months of hire.

Responsibilities

• The Respiratory Care Practitioner (RCP) new graduate is an entry-level clinical role designed for new graduate respiratory therapists.
• Under the direction of a licensed physician and departmental leadership, the RCP new graduate provides basic respiratory care procedures and participates in the assessment, treatment, and monitoring of patients with cardiopulmonary disorders.
• This role supports safe, high-quality, and evidence-based care while progressing toward full licensure and independent practice.
