Job summary

UNC Rex Healthcare in Raleigh, NC is seeking a Surgical Nurse to provide competent perioperative care in the operating room, coordinating care using the nursing process and in collaboration with the perioperative team across multiple service lines. Reporting to the Nurse Manager/Director, you will participate in education, planning, and leadership activities to promote safe, efficient patient care.

The position requires RN licensure in NC, graduation from a nursing program, BLS, and completion

Qualifications

• Graduation from a professional nursing program.
• Successful completion of the AORN Perioperative 101 OR Residency Program.
• Licensed to practice as a Registered Nurse in North Carolina.
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.

Responsibilities

• Attend the AORN Perioperative 101 OR Residency and meet learning needs.
• Identify expected outcomes and promote continuity of care with the perioperative team.
• Demonstrate competent surgical nursing care for patients with complex needs.
• Collaborate to promote unit goals and cost-effective patient care.
• Assess and anticipate surgical needs; advocate for patients throughout perioperative care.
• Plan care with multidisciplinary resources and address cultural considerations.
• Engage with evidence-based practice and research discussions.
