Responsibilities

Coordinate staff development and educational needs for patient care nursing staff, patients, and families.
Serve in a lead capacity over others on special projects or subject matter expertise.
Assist in orientation and placement of nursing students in clinical units; mentor graduate students.
Assist nursing staff with clinical nursing research and performance improvement projects.
Coordinate orientation, staff development and continuing education for nursing staff.
Develop evidence-based standards of care and comprehensive nursing plans.
Develop and evaluate educational materials, self-instruction programs, teaching protocols, and e-learning for nursing staff.
Develop and evaluate patient family education materials; provide clinical supervision and mentorship.
Lead unit/service based clinical practice groups and serve as a clinical resource.
