Job summary

UNC Health Johnston Health is seeking a Surgical Nurse in the Operating Room to provide competent perioperative nursing care for adult and pediatric patients.

Responsibilities include coordination, education, evaluation of care, and collaboration with the perioperative team. Graduation from nursing school and AORN Perioperative 101 OR Residency required; NC RN licensure and BLS mandatory. Onsite, 40 hours/week, days.

Qualifications

• Graduation from school of professional nursing.
• Licensed to practice as a Registered Nurse in North Carolina.
• Completion of the AORN Perioperative 101 OR Residency Program.

Responsibilities

• Provide competent perioperative nursing care in the operating room.
• Coordinate and deliver intraoperative nursing care for diverse surgical services.
• Assess patient needs, prioritize tasks, and communicate to the team for safe discharge planning.
• Promote patient advocacy and collaborate with interdisciplinary perioperative staff.
• Support education and professional growth within the unit.
