Job summary

SpaceX is seeking a New Graduate Engineer, Mechanical for Starlink, to tackle challenging structural, thermal, and electromechanical problems in space-grade hardware. You will own design from ideation to production and on-orbit operation, collaborating across teams to optimize systems and reduce complexity.

You will gain hands-on experience across CAD/FEA, testing, manufacturing, and production ramp, with opportunities to contribute to a leading satellite internet program in Redmond, WA.

Qualifications

• Bachelors in mechanical or aerospace engineering (or STEM).
• Experience with CAD and FEA software packages.
• 1+ years in mechanical/electromechanical design, analysis, testing, or manufacturing (internships/co-ops OK).
• Graduating in winter 2026 or spring/summer 2027.

Responsibilities

• Own hardware from conceptual design through high volume production and on-orbit operation.
• Develop design criteria, collaborate on requirements, and drive system-level optimization.
• Rapidly iterate on designs and analysis to inform system trades and direction.
• Drive DFM to create elegant designs with reduced part count and error-proofing.
• Establish efficient product lifecycle from supply chain to final integration.
• Perform environmental and performance testing to validate design criteria.
• Own product delivery timeline from conception to launch.
• Demonstrate ownership of product outcomes at every stage.
