Job summary

Shape Corp. is seeking recent graduates to join a multi-functional rotation program aimed at developing engineers for new product development and manufacturing support.

You will eventually land in an engineering role focusing on design verification and acting as the company's liaison on customer vehicle teams. The role emphasizes hands-on project leadership, cross-functional collaboration, CAD/CAE involvement, and participation in APQP and VA/VE activities within Shape’s manufacturing and launch

Qualifications

• Recent college graduates invited to join a cross-functional rotation program.
• Engineering focus with emphasis on new product development and design verification.
• Role involves acting as an engineering representative on customer vehicle teams.

Responsibilities

• Learn work area and provide value to the respective team.
• Act as engineering liaison between customer teams and internal manufacturing.
• Develop projects meeting customer requirements to win new business.
• Lead development projects directing Product Design & CAE staff.
• Provide latest background information to CAD/drawing teams.
• Develop design direction and value stream maps.
• Provide designs and data to CAE for analysis setup.
• Analyze CAE outputs and plan next steps.
• Incorporate DFM initiatives and lead GD&T and tolerance studies.
• Establish datums and critical characteristics; develop SPC data points.
• Draft DFMEA and related development documents.
• Develop DVP&R and DFMEA; share in PFMEA meetings.
• Procure parts and fund rapid prototypes for development.
• Oversee initial prototype builds at Shape facilities.
• Coordinate with suppliers to meet requirements.
• Participate in APQP and VA/VE activities as part of program team.
• Work within Shape launch/process knowledge bases.
• Perform additional functions as directed by leadership.
