Job summary

Veterinary Emergency Group The PC seeks new graduate veterinarians for its New ER Doctor (NERD) Program. This six-month, immersive track transforms graduates into confident VEG ER doctors through structured academic and clinical training.

You will learn ER readiness, surgeries, endoscopy, exotic care, and client-centered communication, with ongoing mentorship and a transition to full-time ER positions upon completion.

Qualifications

• A passion for helping others.
• A valid DVM, VMD, or equivalent degree by June 2027.
• A desire to live and breathe emergency medicine.
• A valid license to practice veterinary medicine, as well as a valid DEA registration in the state you will be completing your program by your start date.
• Ability to stand for prolonged hours, kneel, and work on the floor, as well as ability to lift up to 25 kg on own and able to support up to 40 kg with assistance.
• Must be willing to work in a noisy environment with strong or unpleasant odors.
• Availability to work nights, weekends, and holidays on a rotating or as needed basis based on hospital demands.

Responsibilities

• Transform recent veterinary graduates into VEG ER doctors through a six-month immersive program.
• Receive mentorship and 1:1 feedback from experienced VEG doctors.
• Develop ER readiness skills, including surgeries, endoscopy, and exotic animal care.
• Participate in open-concept hospital environments and client-centered care training.
