Job summary

Star Lumber & Supply Co., Inc. is seeking an Estimator for the New Construction Flooring Team. The estimator will provide detailed drawings and material quotes for flooring, countertops and backsplashes, and will perform on-site measurements to support sales and design. A self-starter who adapts to a wide range of client needs is essential.

The role requires strong math, blueprint reading, and communication skills, plus a valid driver’s license and a high school diploma or equivalent.

We are seeking a results oriented Estimator to join our New Construction Flooring Team. The estimator will be responsible for providing detailed drawings and material quotes including flooring, countertops and backsplashes for the sales and design team. A successful candidate will be a self-starter, with the ability to adjust to a wide range of client needs.

A Typical Day:

• Complete onsite estimating of new construction and remodel properties using Measure.
• Field measure jobsite's to get accurate measurements for estimating.
• Provide detailed drawings and material quantity quotes for takeoffs.
• Manage changes to drawings and materials per sales and design team.
• Build effective working relationships with customers and internal employees.

Requirements

• Basic construction knowledge.
• Strong understanding and ability to complete math equations accurately.
• Aptitude to read/interpret architectural blueprints and specifications.
• Capability to manage multiple tasks while meeting quality specifications and deadlines.
• Must possess good verbal and written communication skills.
• Valid driver’s license.
• High School Diploma or Equivalent.

Preferred Experience

• Demonstrated experience estimating flooring, countertop and backsplash projects.
• Full understanding of the new home construction and remodeling processes.
• Estimating experience.
• Familiar with Microsoft Word and Excel.
• Knowledge of software such as Measure and RFMS.
