Shelter Insurance Companies is seeking a New Business Specialist to manage documentation, communication, and processing of new life insurance applications. You will act as the central liaison between Underwriters, Medical Records Retrieval Specialists, field marketing, agents and Sales District Leaders to ensure timely underwriting decisions.

Qualifications

• Excellent verbal and written communication skills with internal and external customers.
• Accurate keyboarding skills and proficiency with PC software including Internet basics and life company systems.
• Ability to balance multiple tasks with strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
• Basic knowledge of life insurance concepts, policies, coverages, underwriting rules and procedures.
• Experience managing complex documents like APS, EHR, RXScore, MIB, MVR and HIPAA forms.

Responsibilities

• Process new life insurance applications efficiently and accurately.
• Serve as central communicator between Underwriters, Medical Records Retrieval Specialists and field marketing teams.
• Support information and document needs for underwriters across the underwriting process.
• Build and maintain strong customer-focused relationships with field sales and agents.
