Job summary

AMN Healthcare is seeking a Neurosurgery Physician Assistant (PA) for locum tenens coverage in California. Schedule: 10-hour shifts, 4 days a week. No nights or weekends; days off depend on operational needs.

You will handle new patient consults, pre-operative evaluations, H&P, inpatient rounding, and surgical assisting. Discharges and post-operative follow-ups span clinic and hospital settings; spine surgery experience is highly preferred.

Qualifications

• Must be NCCPA certified and BLS certified.
• Licensure required: DEA license.
• Credentialing timeframe: 90 days.
• Experience with spine surgery patients and inpatient neurosurgical care is highly preferred.

Responsibilities

• Manage new patient consults, pre-operative evaluations, and H&P.
• Perform inpatient rounding and surgical assisting; handle discharges and follow-ups.
• Provide post-operative care across clinic and hospital settings.
• Demonstrate spine surgery experience or interest; coordinate care with surgical team.

This facility is seeking a Neurosurgery Physician Assistant (PA) for locum tenens support as they look to fill a current need.

Details and requirements for this opportunity:

• Schedule: 10 hour shifts, 4 days a week. No nights. No weekends - day off depends on operational need
• Practice Setting: In-Patient and Out-Patient
• Types of Cases:The provider will manage new patient consults, pre-operative evaluations, History & Physicals, inpatient rounding, surgical assisting, discharges, and post-operative follow-ups across both the clinic and hospital settings. Experience with spine surgery patients and inpatient neurosurgical care is highly preferred.
• Credentialing Timeframe:90 days
• Electronic Medical Record (EMR):Cerner
• Certifications Required: Must be National Commission on Certification of Physician Assistants (NCCPA), must have Basic Life Support (BLS)
• Licensure Required:Drug Enforcement Administration License (DEA)
