Responsibilities

• Conduct comprehensive patient assessments and evaluations
• Assist in neurosurgical procedures under the supervision of attending surgeons
• Develop and implement individualized patient care plans
• Manage post‑operative care and patient recovery
• Collaborate with medical staff to ensure continuity of care
• Provide education and support to patients and their families
• Maintain accurate and timely medical records
• Participate in quality improvement initiatives within the department

Requirements

• Current NP or PA licensure in the state of practice
• Experience in a clinical setting, preferably in neurosurgery or a related field
• Strong critical thinking and decision‑making skills
• Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities
• Ability to work collaboratively within a multi‑disciplinary team
• Commitment to high‑quality patient care and safety
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required; Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) preferred
• Must be able to adapt to a fast‑paced working environment

Schedule & Details

• Schedule: Monday‑Sunday, 7 p‑7 a, 7 on/7 off
• No call shifts
• Setting: Inpatient, multiple possible locations
• Patient Volume: 20‑30 per day or 8‑15 per day
• Patient Population: Trauma (spine and cranial), elective spine, elective cranial
• Skills Needed: Drain removal, shunt adjustment, trauma/practice call
• Team: 8 MDs, 9 APPs
• EMR: Epic
• Board‑certification required
