Job summary

Banner Health's neurosurgery clinic in Phoenix seeks a Medical Assistant to join the C/P-Neurosurgery-Clinic team. You will room patients, take vitals, assist with procedures, and update electronic medical records accurately.

There is travel between sites and growth opportunities through tuition assistance and certification support. Uncertified MAs have 12 months to become certified; Banner pays for study materials and certification costs.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required; completion of an approved medical assistant training program.
• Active Medical Assistant Certification is required; BLS certification is required.
• Certification or additional training must meet Meaningful use requirements.
• Arizona Fingerprint Clearance Card is required at hire for Banner facilities.

Responsibilities

• Prepare patients for exams by taking vital signs and recording measurements.
• Assist providers with exams and in-office procedures; perform phlebotomy and EKGs as needed.
• Coordinate patient care including referrals, authorizations, and scheduling.
• Maintain complete and accurate medical records and assist with billing-related documentation.
• Support office staff with calls, registrations, scheduling, and referrals while ensuring patient safety.
