Job summary

Banner Health is seeking a Medical Assistant for our Neurosurgery Clinic in Phoenix. You will be rooming patients, taking vitals, assisting with procedures, and updating electronic medical records accurately and timely.

Travel between Arcadia and McDowell locations may be required as part of clinic support. The role emphasizes delivering excellent patient experiences, strong customer service, and teamwork within a busy neurosurgery setting.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• Completion of an approved medical assistant training program.
• Active Medical Assistant Certification required; BLS certification required.
• Strong computer skills and experience with medical software.
• Ability to take vitals, perform basic procedures, and maintain patient records.

Responsibilities

• Greet and prepare patients for exams; record vital signs and chief complaints.
• Assist with exams and minor in-office procedures; venipuncture and EKGs as needed.
• Coordinate pre-certifications, referrals, and scheduling; communicate results to patients.
• Provide clerical support, ensure complete medical records and accurate billing information.
• Maintain clean, organized clinical areas; follow sterilization and safety guidelines.
• Order supplies and manage stock in patient care areas.
• Communicate effectively with patients, families, and clinic staff; support team-oriented care.
• Complete onboarding and simulation training as required.
• Work under supervision of providers and coordinate with external offices when needed.
