Job summary

Banner Health in Mesa, AZ is seeking a Medical Assistant to support clinicians in a busy clinic. You’ll take vital signs, prepare patients for exams, administer injections, vaccines, collect specimens, and perform point-of-care testing, including EKGs.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED
• Completion of Banner approved medical assistant training program
• Active Medical Assistant Certification
• BLS certification upon hire
• Strong computer skills
• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
• Ability to manage multiple changing priorities

Responsibilities

• Prepares patient for exam by taking and recording vital signs and documenting chief complaint
• Assists providers with exams and minor in-office procedures including phlebotomy and EKGs
• Coordinates pre-certifications, referrals, and scheduling of patients for clinic and tests
• Provides clerical support and ensures billing-related information is complete and accurate
• Maintains a clean, disinfected clinical environment and proper handling of equipment
• Orders supplies and manages medications and recalls as directed
• Develops effective communication with internal and external customers
• Completes onboarding/orientation activities including simulation training
• Works under direct supervision of providers and coordinates with staff across departments
