Job summary

BAS HealthCare in Vernon, CT seeks a Surgical PA or APRN for a neurosurgery setting. You will have 1:1 training with neurosurgeons, participate in a DBS program, and work in both clinic and OR as a 1st Assistant for cranial and spine procedures.

The role emphasizes collaboration with experienced neurosurgery staff and a patient-centered care approach in a full-time schedule with four 10-hour shifts, no weekend obligations.

Qualifications

• Graduate of an accredited Physician Assistant or Nurse Practitioner Master's program preferred.
• Must be licensed, or eligible to be licensed, as a Physician Assistant or APRN in Connecticut.
• Certification or eligibility for certification as a Physician Assistant or National Board Certification as an APRN required.
• RNFA certification required for APRNs.
• Preferred: 1 year of experience as a Surgical PA in Neurosurgery or Orthopedics; 1st Assist in OR preferred.

Responsibilities

• 1:1 training with neurosurgeons to ensure clinical excellence.
• Involvement in a DBS program including DBS and HIFU treatment for movement disorders.
• Clinic and OR time with 1st Assist for cranial and spine procedures.
• Work with a team of advanced practitioners with extensive Neurosurgery experience.
